According to the state-owned enterprise news agency, Uzbekistan's Tegaz has officially signed a contract with China Petroleum West Bromwich Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. to jointly drill 30 exploration wells in the Ustyurt area from 2026 to 2028.

As an important component of the priority task implementation of the Ukrainian side, the core goal of this agreement is to improve the efficiency of oil well extraction, integrate modern technology into the entire production process, collaborate with international enterprises to develop technical solutions, promote implementation in stages, expand the scope of geological exploration, accurately identify new oil and gas potential areas, and carry out development work.

Under the framework of this project, both parties plan to drill deep wells at depths of 5500 to 6000 meters in newly identified potential areas in the Ustyurt region, with a focus on identifying hydrocarbon reserves in high-pressure and high-temperature abnormal reservoirs. Uzbekneftegaz stated that this cooperation with Chinese companies is of crucial importance in advancing the country's geological exploration into a new stage and consolidating its energy and resource foundation.

In March of this year, Uzbekistan's Kenevtegaz signed a cooperation agreement with China National Petroleum Corporation's Sibu Company, specifying that new wells will be drilled in Uzbekistan. The first phase plans to complete the drilling of 30 wells between 2026 and 2027. Keywords: Oil, China Ukraine cooperation, Hydrocarbon reserve

In addition, BP, a British company, has recently participated in the Ustyurt region oil and gas project, which is currently being jointly promoted by Azerbaijan SOCAR and Uzbekistan Petroleum and Gas Company under a production sharing agreement signed by both parties. Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan has initiated the development of a new oil field and plans to further expand the scale of exploration and development.
