Zhoukou Port ranks among the top ten inland waterways in China

On December 24, 2025, the first phase of the central operation area of Zhoukou Port officially opened for operation, with 13 2000 ton automated container berths and an annual throughput capacity of 1.075 million TEUs, ranking among the top ten inland ports in China. After the resumption of navigation, Shaying River will be upgraded to a class III waterway. 3000 ton cargo ships can directly reach the Yangtze River and go to sea through three sea ports. At present, 43 domestic and international container shipping routes have been opened, with a throughput of over 55 million tons by 2025, nearly doubling in five years. The port area is simultaneously promoting the construction of photovoltaic and wind power, with the goal of building Henan's first zero carbon terminal.

Leading enterprises build their own docks to seize the beach layout

The total investment of Yihai Kerry Zhoukou Industrial Park exceeds 20 billion yuan, adjacent to a self built dedicated dock in the port area. Soybeans and corn are unloaded by grain suction machines and transported directly to the factory area through closed pipelines, saving 80% of logistics costs compared to highways. Wahaha, Luhua, Anyang Iron and Steel and other enterprises have successively settled in, forming four leading industrial clusters in Zhoukou: food processing, biomedicine, equipment manufacturing, and modern logistics. The agricultural city, which used to have a weak industrial foundation, is transforming into an industrial highland in eastern Henan by relying on the low cost of water transportation.
