On April 28, 2026, the State Grid Zhejiang 1000 kV High Voltage AC Loop Network Project officially started construction, which is the largest and highest investment ultra-high voltage AC transmission project in China.

The project starts in Jiaxing and ends in Lishui, connecting 7 cities, with a total length of 508 kilometers and a total investment of 29.3 billion yuan. It is expected to be completed in 2029. After completion, it will form a "one ring and four straight" ultra-high voltage network, with an annual consumption of over 57 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy, a reduction of 44.62 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and support the connection of 31 million kilowatts of new clean power sources in Zhejiang. Keywords: electricity, ultra-high voltage
The current electricity demand in Zhejiang has surged, with a total electricity consumption of 161.59 billion kilowatt hours in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of over 5%. Advanced manufacturing accounts for more than 40% of industrial electricity consumption. The project will enhance Zhejiang's energy self-sufficiency rate, ensure the electricity supply of the Yangtze River Delta load center, and provide strong energy support for the development of emerging industries and integrated development.
