On May 11, 2026, the construction drawing consultation and evaluation results of the Suining Neijiang section of the Mianyang Suining Neijiang Railway were released, and China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute won the first place with a bid of 12.0398 million yuan. This means that the Suinei section is about to enter the construction drawing review stage, the preliminary design approval is entering the countdown, and it is expected to officially start construction in the second half of the year.

A line connects four cities

A new main line of 107.797 kilometers will be built in the Suinei section, which will be led out from the Suining High tech Station at the river end of the Mianyang Suining section, passing through Anju District of Suining, Anyue County of Ziyang, and Dongxing District of Neijiang, and then connected to the Neijiang North Station and the Neizi Luzhou section of the Mianyang Luzhou high-speed railway. Simultaneously build Anju Station (with a station area of 2500 square meters), expand Neijiang North Station (with a station area of approximately 20000 square meters), and construct 6.969 kilometers of connecting lines in Suining area, 1.443 kilometers of dynamic tracks in Neijiang area, and a storage yard. The construction period is 4 years, with 4 stations, 141 bridges, and 21 tunnels along the entire line.

Including the 136 kilometer Miansui section that started construction in August 2024, the entire Miansui Zinei Railway is approximately 244 kilometers long, with a total approved investment of 20.883 billion yuan in the feasibility study.

How to divide 20.8 billion

The project is led by Shudao Group, with the governments of Suining, Ziyang, and Neijiang each contributing 50% - half capital and half bank loans - to Shudao Group. In December 2025, the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission approved the feasibility study with the document Chuanfa Gaiji [2025] No. 632. This is a key step in the intercity network of the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle: connecting the planned Mian'an Railway to the Sichuan Qinghai Railway in the north, connecting the under construction Dawan High speed Railway in the middle, and connecting the Neijiang North Station to the Neijiang Luzhou Line in the south, serving both intercity commuting and intercity long-distance transportation. When can it be opened to traffic

The Miansui section has been under construction for nearly two years, and based on a 4-year construction period, it is expected to be opened to traffic around 2028. If the Suinei section starts construction in the second half of the year, the entire line will be completed around 2030.
