Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the QazaqGaz Management Committee, held a high-level meeting with Li Shufeng, General Manager of China Petroleum Kazakhstan Aktobe Company, to discuss expanding cooperation in the natural gas field.

Both parties focused on discussing how to further strengthen the partnership between companies and exchanged views on new directions of cooperation, including conducting geological exploration work nationwide in Kazakhstan and promoting the implementation of natural gas projects. During the meeting, Kazakhstan made it clear that PetroChina has always been a long-term and reliable strategic partner in Kazakhstan's energy sector. Both companies have joined hands to promote multiple large-scale infrastructure projects, including the construction of cross-border natural gas transportation systems.

Both sides reiterated their willingness to further deepen cooperation and promote the implementation of joint projects in the natural gas field, especially in infrastructure construction and upstream exploration and development, to increase cooperation efforts. PetroChina entered the Kazakhstan market in 1997, with business scope covering upstream oil and gas investment, downstream refining, oil and gas pipeline construction and operation, oil product sales, and oil and gas field engineering and technical services.
