On May 18, 2026, the maintenance hangar project of Emirates Airport was officially launched in the Dubai World Centre area. The project is undertaken by China Railway Construction Corporation, with a total investment of over 5 billion US dollars and a total construction area of approximately 1.21 million square meters. It is planned to be completed by 2030. After completion, it will become one of the largest, most technologically advanced, and most complex clusters of civil aviation maintenance hangars in the world.

Eight hangars can simultaneously serve 28 aircraft

The project includes 8 large maintenance hangars, 2 professional paint hangars, and related supporting facilities. After completion, it can provide full process services such as fuselage maintenance, engine maintenance, and aircraft painting for 28 wide body aircraft simultaneously. The Chairman of Emirates Airlines Group stated that this world-class aviation project will inject new impetus into the economic growth of the UAE.

China Construction enters the high-end market in the Middle East

Dai Hegen, Chairman of China Railway Construction Corporation, stated that this project is an important practice for deepening pragmatic cooperation between China and Arab countries, and also a demonstration project for China Construction to serve the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Arab countries.
