On May 18, 2026, Sun Yan, Consul General of China in Lahore, attended a themed seminar on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan at Punjab University.

Consul General Sun reviewed the "ironclad" friendship established between China and Pakistan based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in his speech, and highlighted the achievements of the construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, pointing out that the "2.0 upgraded version" of the corridor has brought more development opportunities to Pakistan.

Looking ahead to the future, China and Pakistan will work together to build a closer China Pakistan community with a shared future, continuously strengthen cooperation in areas such as security, development, and international rule of law, jointly respond to the century long changes, maintain regional and world peace, and continue to write a new chapter of China Pakistan friendship.
