Recently, the Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit was held in Beijing. More than 800 representatives from 51 countries and regions gathered together to discuss the future of moving towards a new direction. Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, released the Beijing Initiative, proposing five initiatives: cultivating new quality productivity, promoting open cooperation in industrial and supply chains, empowering economic and trade cooperation with artificial intelligence, promoting deep integration between service and manufacturing industries, and deepening global business cooperation.

Holding hands and not letting go has become a consensus

Beijing proposes to hold hands instead of letting go, extend chains instead of breaking them, deepen international cooperation in industrial and supply chains, and promote the formation of a diversified, stable, and complementary international industrial cooperation network. The Second Deputy Prime Minister of Spain stated that what is needed now is not a reduction in multilateralism, but a better and more equitable multilateralism. The EU and China should continue to cooperate and achieve more balanced and sustainable bilateral trade through dialogue.

AI empowers economic and trade cooperation

Artificial intelligence has become a high-frequency term at the summit. Beijing proposes to promote the construction of an open, transparent, fair, just, and non discriminatory governance framework for artificial intelligence, and to address common challenges such as data governance, rule coordination, and technological security in a coordinated manner. The Chairman of CITIC Group stated that artificial intelligence has advanced from the tide of the times to a strategic foundation and is deeply reshaping the global economic landscape. No enterprise can complete all innovation alone, and no country can tackle global challenges alone. Keywords: Strategic News Network, Artificial Intelligence, Industry Integration

New quality productivity and industrial integration

The summit will establish a plenary session on new quality productivity and global industrial and supply chain cooperation, as well as a parallel forum on the deep integration of the service industry and manufacturing industry. Beijing proposes that the global business community should work together to cultivate new quality productivity driven by technological innovation, and deepen research and development cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum information, and biomanufacturing. To promote the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, and develop new formats and models such as service-oriented manufacturing and customized production. The UN coordinator in China stated that global supply chains should be sustainable, inclusive, and trustworthy, and small and medium-sized enterprises should be allowed to participate.Editor/Gao Xue
