Recently, ZOE Energy Storage Saudi Arabia's 18GWh Capacity Fills Local Gap Energy Storage joined hands with local strategic partners in Saudi Arabia to jointly build the first world-class battery energy storage manufacturing base in Saudi Arabia. The first phase of the project is planned to have a production capacity of 6GWh and will be completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2027. The second phase will rapidly expand to 18GWh, filling the gap in localized production of large-scale energy storage equipment in the local area. This marks a new stage for Chinese energy storage enterprises to take root in the Middle East market and build an ecosystem.

The first phase of 6GWh will be put into operation in 2027

The intelligent manufacturing base covers an area of 150 acres and is fully benchmarked against top European manufacturing quality control standards. After production, it will obtain Saudi manufacturing certification. The product is specially optimized for local extreme climate and power grid regulations, and can fully adapt to diverse application scenarios such as new energy grid connection, power grid peak shaving, and distributed energy storage. The establishment of a localized production and certification system will effectively avoid regional trade barriers and significantly reduce overall project costs.

Accurately aligning with Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision

This production capacity landing is precisely in line with Saudi Arabia's national energy transformation layout. According to official plans, the installed capacity of renewable energy in Saudi Arabia will increase to 130 gigawatts by 2030, with a target of 48 gigawatt hours for supporting energy storage installation. Capacity radiates to the Middle East and North Africa markets
