Recently, the pumped storage power station project in Hezhou, Guangxi has been approved by the Development and Reform Commission of the autonomous region, marking the official countdown from paper planning to construction of this energy project, which is the largest single investment project in Hezhou in recent years.

The project is located in Butou Town, Babu District, Hezhou City, with a total installed capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts. It is planned to install four 350000 kilowatt reversible water pump turbine units, with a total dynamic investment of approximately 8.33 billion yuan. Pumped storage power stations are known as the super power banks of the power system - pumped storage during low demand periods and water discharge for power generation during high demand periods. They are currently the most mature large-scale energy storage technology and play a stabilizing role in the new power system.
