A train left the Erlianhot railway port slowly with the sound of the whistle. This scene became an important moment on the development road of the China-Europe train. Since the departure of the first train in 2013, it has been more than ten years of wind and rain. This port has always been the only traffic node in the middle channel, witnessing a train shuttle. The traffic volume is rising steadily
Over the past ten years, the traffic volume of trains at Erlianhaote port has maintained a steady growth trend. In 2018, the cumulative number of trains passing through the port reached 1,000. In 2020, it successfully exceeded 5,000. In 2022 and 2025, it crossed 10,000 and 20,000 respectively, and now the overall scale exceeded 25,000. The improvement of channel operation efficiency is particularly obvious. In the past, it took 7 years to complete the increment of 5000 columns. Now this process has been compressed to less than 1 year, the growth rate has achieved a qualitative leap, and the port throughput capacity has been fully released.

The road network continues to extend
The transportation network built on the Erenhot port continues to expand. At present, there are 75 operating lines, covering more than 70 hub stations in more than 10 countries. Domestically, the line radiates most of the first cities of the train, and the internal and external linkage pattern is basically formed. The intensive train lines break through the logistics barriers in many places, make the material exchanges between the two places more convenient, and the radiation driving ability of the cross-border channels continues to increase, becoming an important traffic context connecting Asia and Europe.

Accelerated upgrading of goods
With the continuous development of the channel, the port freight structure continues to optimize. In the early days, most of the goods transported were basic categories such as metal products, chemical raw materials, clothing, shoes and hats. Nowadays, high value-added goods such as new energy vehicles, electronic products and household appliances have become the main force of transportation. The proportion of local high-quality manufacturing products has increased significantly, from less than 10 % to more than 40 %.
