• On June 15, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 16000 ton deep-sea self propelled cable laying ship was held in Nantong. The ship was designed by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation's 708 Research Institute and is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2027, meeting the classification standards of China Classification Society. The total length of the vessel is 161.8 meters, with a maximum cable carrying capacity of 16000 tons. It has unlimited navigation capacity and is equipped with a fully electric propulsion system, which can achieve DP2 level power positioning.
