On June 22, 2026, the delivery ceremony of the satellite city water supply project in the Nigerian capital was successfully held. The project is constructed by China Overseas Land Nigeria Limited, laying a new water supply network with a total length of nearly 400 kilometers, serving the Buwali and Karu areas, and meeting the clean drinking water needs of about 1 million local residents.

Nigerian Vice President Shettima witnessed the delivery and delivered a speech, pointing out that safe and clean drinking water is directly related to the living standards of the people and has significant implications for the local economic and social development. In 2024, Nigerian President Tenubu visited China to attend the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, during which CGCOC signed a letter of intent with the Nigerian Capital District Government on cooperation in the satellite city water supply project.
