[Qatar to Expand Western Power Grid with $604 Million]In order to implement the 2030 vision and solve the bottleneck of the 2GW Duhan photovoltaic power station, Qatar General Electric Company has awarded the EPC contract for the expansion of the western transmission network to El Suvidi, Egypt, with a total contract amount of approximately 604 million US dollars. The project will build a new 132kV underground cable corridor, booster station, and smart grid system in the Duhan area, achieving the grid connection of 2 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power to the national backbone network, synchronously improving the reliability of power supply in western oil and gas producing areas, and providing core support for Qatar's energy transformation and summer peak shaving.Editor/Gong Ziwei
