On June 29, 2026, a new generation of freight flat cars will be delivered in batches. These vehicles, jointly built by CRRC Qiqihar Rolling Stock Co.,Ltd. and China Railway Special Cargo, will be transported to the China Laos Railway, filling the gap in cold chain transport of the Lancang Mekong Express. Relying on the mature models launched in 2024, the cross-border multimodal transport capacity will be comprehensively improved.

Outstanding vehicle performance

This delivery of 600 BNX70 shared flat cars was completed on June 29th, and it belongs to the new generation of railway flat cars in China. The vehicle is compatible with various types of containers and two types of refrigerated containers, and can also carry large goods such as steel and large bridge components. The whole vehicle adopts a modular universal body with high standardization of components, reducing the frequency of daily maintenance. A flexible centralized power supply pipeline is added for cold chain transportation. The onboard power supply system runs stably and is suitable for various cross-border freight conditions.

Promote the upgrading of cross-border logistics

The R&D and manufacturing work of this model will officially start in 2024, and as of June 29, 2026, the cumulative delivery volume has reached one thousand vehicles. At present, the demand for domestic cold chain multimodal transport continues to rise. The use of large quantities of BNX70 flat cars can improve the railway refrigerated transport equipment system, accelerate the technical iteration of freight cars, ensure the green and efficient transport of goods on the Lancang Mekong Express Line, and continue to strengthen the overall transport capacity of China Laos railway for international freight.  Editor/Min Jing
