A major project signing ceremony was held at Baiyang Palace in Hawali Province, Kuwait, and CSCEC won the North Kabad Sewage Treatment Plant project. This signing brings together the Prime Minister of Kuwait, the Minister of Public Works, and Chinese corporate executives, marking a key breakthrough in cooperation between China and Kuwait in the field of ecological and environmental protection. The total project amount is about 22.4 billion yuan, which will provide solid support for the recycling of water resources in Kuwait.

Project Core Overview
CSCEC has officially signed a contract with the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works for the North Kabad Sewage Treatment Plant and its supporting projects. The project is located in the Kabade area of Jehra Province, adopting an integrated model of design, procurement, construction, operation and maintenance. Three pumping stations and supporting pipelines will be constructed for the sewage treatment plant. The contract amount is 999.85 million Kuwaiti dinars, equivalent to approximately 22.4 billion Chinese yuan. The construction and commissioning period is five years, and the subsequent operation and maintenance period is also five years. The contract size accounts for 1.1% of China State Construction Engineering Corporation's revenue in 2025.
Deepen bilateral cooperation
This project is a landmark project of the the Belt and Road jointly built by China and Kuwait, and implements the environmental protection cooperation memorandum witnessed and signed by the two heads of state. The Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works stated that the project promotes practical cooperation between the two countries and helps upgrade local infrastructure. After the completion of the project, the sewage treatment system in Kuwait will be improved, the utilization rate of recycled water resources will be enhanced, the regional ecological environment will be improved, and the implementation of Kuwait's 2035 national vision will be supported. Simultaneously expanding CSCEC's overseas environmental protection business track and enhancing the company's international brand competitiveness.
