[The freight volume of the Inner Mongolia Railway has exceeded 50 million tons]As of July 26, 2026, the cumulative freight volume of Mombasa Nairobi Railway, a landmark project jointly built by China and Kenya along the the Belt and Road, has exceeded 50 million tons. The railway has a total length of 472 kilometers and was opened for freight transportation in 2018. In July 2026, Swiss marine engineering giant Allseas won the installation contract for the underwater section of the Canadian PRGT natural gas pipeline, which will lay approximately 50 kilometers of pipelines connecting onshore systems with Ksi Lisims floating LNG facilities. On July 30, 2026, the supporting river crossing project at the receiving end of the Kubuqi Desert Base Power Transmission Project in Inner Mongolia officially started construction in Chongming, Shanghai. The cross river tunnel is a crucial node in the project and is planned to be completed by the end of 2030.
