On August 3, 2026, in the presence of CHIA, Cangyu Space and IMAST signed a framework cooperation agreement in Hohhot. Both sides will leverage complementary advantages and deeply integrate industry, academia, and research to jointly promote the landing and application of space-based information technology in Inner Mongolia's smart governance and digital industry, injecting space energy into the high-quality development of the autonomous region.

Inner Mongolia has a vast territory and complex terrain, and traditional ground monitoring methods face challenges in terms of coverage and response time. This cooperation aims to leverage the advantages of Cangyu Space's high orbit satellite relay technology, combined with IMAST's local scientific research and scene practice capabilities, to build all-weather, full coverage, and near real-time space-based monitoring capabilities, and help the autonomous region transform from "post disposal" to "pre warning and in-process monitoring".

At the meeting, both sides stated that they will focus on key areas such as forest and grassland fire prevention, border control, emergency management, and smart agriculture and animal husbandry, build an integrated data service system, and develop localized application products; Both sides will carry out technological research and demonstration applications around four major scenarios: intelligent fire prevention on grasslands, unmanned communication at borders, unmanned aerial vehicle long endurance inspections, and emergency communication support. In addition, both parties will explore the development model of "research center+operation company", establish a market-oriented operation company at an appropriate time, connect the complete loop of scientific research landing, industry empowerment, and market operation, and jointly carry out scientific and technological achievement evaluation and lead the formulation of industry group standards.

This cooperation is an important exploration of empowering border governance with commercial aerospace technology. From the sky to the depths of the grasslands, space technology is guarding this vast land in a brand new way.
