On September 2, 2026, Ambassador Li Fan of Pakistan met with the newly appointed Ambassador Irfan of Pakistan.

Ambassador Li welcomed Iran's inauguration and stated that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners, with a deep traditional friendship and a good momentum of development in bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further strengthen communication and coordination, solidly promote all-round and high-level strategic cooperation, and better benefit the people of the two countries.
