On September 23, 2026, at the opening ceremony of the 7th China Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair, Donggang City and Shandong Higgs New Energy Co., Ltd. officially signed a contract for a 100MW/200MWh electrochemical energy storage power station project. The total investment of the project is 240 million yuan, which has become an important investment attraction achievement for the Dandong delegation on the opening day of this year's Liaoning International Fair. Site selection in Donggang Economic Development Zone

The energy storage power station project is located in Donggang Economic Development Zone, with a planned installed capacity of 100MW/200MWh. It adopts the lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage technology route and will construct energy storage battery system, energy storage inverter system, BMS/EMS communication monitoring system. At the same time, a 220kV booster station and a complete set of grid connected ancillary facilities will be constructed, positioned as an independent energy storage project on the grid side. It is equivalent to installing a large power bank for the Dandong regional power grid, which can effectively ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, strengthen the power supply guarantee capability of Dandong region, and assist in the construction of Liaodong Green Economic Zone.

The investor has a deep accumulation of technology

The project investor, Shandong Higgs New Energy Co., Ltd., was established in Laiwu, Jinan, Shandong in 2012. It is a national high-tech enterprise and also a specialized and innovative enterprise in Shandong Province. With 88 authorized patents, it has solid technical accumulation and project implementation experience in the field of electrochemical energy storage. In 2020, the company built the first independent energy storage power station for the reuse of returned batteries from State Grid in China, and in 2022, the first batch of energy storage power stations in Shandong were connected to the grid; Obtained the qualification for comprehensive utilization of retired power batteries from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2024, and implemented a 40000 ton technical renovation project for retired power batteries annually. Liaoning's energy storage policy accelerates

The implementation of this project is also a concrete manifestation of the accelerated implementation of energy storage industry policies in Liaoning Province. According to the strict requirements of Liaoning Province for the construction pace of energy storage projects, the project needs to start construction and form physical workload within 2 months after being approved by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, and achieve full capacity grid connection within 12 months.
