[Qinghai Golmud Plateau Coal-fired Project First Unit Successfully Connected to Grid] The first unit of Qinghai Huadian Golmud Phase I project, constructed by PowerChina Nuclear, was successfully connected to the grid in one attempt. The plant site is located at an altitude of about 2850 meters, making it the highest ultra supercritical coal-fired power project in China. Two 660 MW units are planned for the project, with an annual power generation of 5.94 billion kilowatt hours. They will serve as regulating power sources for the Shage Wilderness Base and overcome multiple high-altitude technical challenges. Editor/Min Jing
