On the vast plains of western Jilin, wind is no longer a fleeting natural phenomenon, but has been tamed into a surging power that drives millions of kilowatts of clean energy. In the core carrying area of the Three Gorges, a super wind power base has just obtained the construction permit.

On October 9, 2026, Jilin Nengfa Taonan City's 1.5 million kilowatt wind power project was officially approved. The main body of the project construction is Taonan Nengfa New Energy Co., Ltd.

Project site selection and landing in Taonan

The project is located in Taonan City, Baicheng City, Jilin Province, covering five townships: Wanbao Township, Wanbao Town, Dongsheng Township, Najin Town, and Yema Township. The project plans to install 177 8.35-megawatt wind turbines and 3 7.35-megawatt wind turbines, totaling 180 units, with a total installed capacity of 1500 megawatts. Simultaneously build 3 new 220 kV boosting stations, supporting the construction of collection lines, main transformers, box type transformers, phase-shifting cameras, maintenance roads and other ancillary works.

Project investment and construction planning

The total investment of the project is 7.521 billion yuan. The project capital is 1504.2847 million yuan, accounting for 20% of the total investment, and the construction period is 24 months. The project uses all large megawatt wind turbines, with the main model having a single unit capacity of 8.35 megawatts. 180 units form a 1500 megawatt installed capacity, with a unit cost of approximately 5014 yuan per kilowatt. The construction of supporting phase-shifting cameras reflects the higher standards set by the power grid for voltage support and grid connection performance of large-scale new energy bases.
