During the SCO Prime Ministers' Meeting, high-level officials from China and Iran met in Dushanbe to explore regional peace and bilateral cooperation paths based on the deep cultural ties and the new node of comprehensive strategic partnership.

Li Qiang stated that China and Iran are both ancient civilizations with a long-standing traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 55 years ago, China Iran relations have maintained stable and healthy development, and have withstood the test of international turbulence. 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Iran. China is willing to take this opportunity with Iran to promote new progress in exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two sides. Li Qiang pointed out that since 2026, the situation in the Middle East has been turbulent. China advocates respecting the sovereignty and security of all countries, adhering to dialogue and negotiation to resolve differences, and continuously promoting peace talks to help restore peace in the region. Aref stated that Iran attaches great importance to cooperation with China and is willing to closely collaborate in multiple fields, deepen partnership through multilateral mechanisms such as alloy bricks, support China's Middle East peace initiative, and look forward to returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
