On August 17, 2020, in the throat area of Xiong'an Station of the Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway, the last set of 500-meter-long steel rails was slowly sent out from the front of the transport vehicle and landed on the ballastless bed, marking the connection between Beijing and Xiong'an. The inter-city railway in the new area has achieved full track connection, which is a solid step towards achieving the goal of opening and operating before the end of the year.

The new line is 92.03 kilometers long, with 5 stations in Beijing Daxing, Daxing Airport, Gu'an East, Bazhou North, and Xiong'an. The Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway is constructed and operated in two sections. The section from Liying to Daxing Airport has a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour, which has been opened for operation in September 2019, and the section from Daxing Airport to Xiong’an has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour and is expected to be opened for operation by the end of 2020.Mark.

The total track length of the Beijing-Xiong Intercity Railway is 229.7 kilometers, of which the Hebei section is 160.7 kilometers. In order to ensure the completion of the track laying task for the Hebei section on schedule, the builders used advanced equipment and construction techniques to solve the problems from long rail transportation to long rail laying one by one.

The railway department stated that the full track laying of the Jingxiong Intercity Railway (Hebei Section) is a landmark node in the construction of the Jingxiong Intercity Railway. Follow-up will make every effort to promote the fine-tuning of the track, the installation and commissioning of the four-electric equipment.
