In the process of vigorously promoting energy transformation and infrastructure upgrading in Uzbekistan, the door to international cooperation is constantly opening.

A few days ago, China Energy Construction Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Nengjian International") successfully signed three cooperation agreements with local enterprises, involving 100MW energy storage system and 500MW wind power project, which added a strong impetus to the development of clean energy industry in Central Asia.

This paper is part of the 299th series of "Business Economics of Uzbekistan" in Central Asia, focusing on the analysis of industrial policies, laws and regulations, development trends, market demand, competitive situation and potential cooperation opportunities of five Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan) and neighboring countries (Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Mongolia) in the fields of investment, trade and engineering construction.

Focus on Tashkent and Bukhara

Wind and solar shine for electricity distribution panels manufacturing LLC and China nengjian international formally signed three agreements in Tashkent:

100MW energy storage system consultation agreement: The project is located in Tashkent, the capital, and will provide the core support for power grid regulation and peak-valley load leveling.

Consultation agreement of 500MW wind power project: The project is located in Pesh reservoir area of Bukhara state, and will evaluate the wind power potential and grid-connected feasibility.

EPC General Contract: China Nengjian International will be responsible for the design, procurement and construction of the 500MW wind power project to ensure efficient delivery.

Clean energy accelerates eastward

In recent years, Uzbekistan has regarded clean energy as a national strategic focus.

According to the government plan, by 2030, the proportion of solar energy and wind energy in the power structure will increase to 25%. The start of energy storage project is helpful to relieve the pressure on power grid and improve the utilization rate of renewable energy.

Under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative, China enterprises continue to expand the overseas energy market layout.

According to the data of China Electric Power Enterprise Association, by the end of 2024, China enterprises have built more than 30 large-scale wind power and energy storage projects around the world, with a total installed capacity of over 8GW.
