On August 31, 2020, the ground-breaking ceremony of No. 9 and No. 10 automated container berths in Dalanping South Operation Zone, Qinzhou Port Area, China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone. This is another major project of Beibu Gulf Port since the start of the expansion project of Qinzhou Port East Channel in July. It is also an important measure of the autonomous region’s implementation of the new western land-sea channel and the construction of the Beibu Gulf international gateway port. The No. 9 and No. 10 automated container berths in the Dalanpingnan operation area of Qinzhou are the key construction projects of the new land-sea corridor in the western part of the country and the key project to build the international gateway port of the Beibu Gulf. Beibu Gulf Port actively adapts to the global development trend of large-scale ships, speeds up the construction of smart ports, and plans to build two 100,000-ton-class automated container berths. The terminal hydraulics is designed to berth 200,000-ton-class container ships, with an annual design throughput of 1.25 million bids.
