On October 14, China Chemical Seventh Construction Company and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan successfully signed a Gabonese fertilizer project with Gabon Fertilizer Company and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation. The contract value was US$415 million. After the completion of the project, the daily production capacity will be 3850 tons of urea and 2,200 tons of synthetic ammonia.

The project is located in Port Gentil, Gabon, and the owners are Gabon Fertilizer Company and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation. The company and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries formed a consortium to sign an EPC contract, which undertook part of the design and all construction work of the ammonia plant, urea plant, urea granulation plant and related off-site facilities and public facilities.

The total project duration is 47.5 months (including the design duration). This is another major business achievement that the company has achieved by insisting on focusing on epidemic prevention and control with one hand and operation and production with the other hand, and achieving "two hands with two hard hands". The successful signing of this project has laid a solid foundation for the company to further consolidate and expand the African market. Editor/Sang Xiaomei
