On December 8-10, 2020, the National Railway Group Appraisal Center organized a feasibility review meeting for the new Yan'an-Yulin-Ordos high-speed railway project in Yulin. The successful convening of the feasibility study review meeting of the project marked a major step forward for the preliminary work of the new Yanyu-E high-speed railway.
It is understood that the Yanyu-E high-speed railway is formed by the merger of the Yan'an-Yulin high-speed railway and the Yulin-Ordos high-speed railway. Among them, the Yanyu high-speed rail project started early, and the prerequisites for the feasibility study report and approval were all completed in October 2018 and entered the preliminary design stage. Later, the National Railway Group launched the Yu-E high-speed railway survey and design work in July 2019, and decided to package the Yanyu and Yu-E high-speed railways into one project for approval, and the preliminary work related to the Yan-Yu high-speed railway was suspended.
The Yan'an-Yulin-Ordos high-speed railway line runs through Yan'an Station, the terminus of the Xiyan High-speed Railway, and passes through Baota District of Yan'an City, Yanchuan County, Qingjian County of Yulin City, Suide County, Mizhi County, Hengshan District, and Yuyang in order to the north. District and Shenmu City, Yijinhuoluo Banner, Ordos City, lead to Ordos Station to the end of the project.
7 new high-speed railway stations in Yan'an New District, Yanchuan, Qingjianbei, Suidexi, Mizhibei, Yulin South and Hongjiannao Stations were newly established. The newly-built line length is 389.84km, including 336.540km in Shaanxi (79.0km in Yan'an City, (257.54km in Yulin City), 53.300km in Inner Mongolia. The design speed is 350 km/h, and the total investment is about 63.8 billion yuan.
The Yan'an-Yulin-Ordos high-speed railway project is an important part of the Baohai Pass, which is one of the eight vertical and eight horizontal high-speed railway passages in the country. It is not only an important component of Inner Mongolia’s southbound passenger transport passage, but also the skeleton of the Hubao Eyu urban agglomeration intercity railway network . After completion, it will further promote the high-quality development of the construction of the national intercity railway network, optimize the configuration of the Baoxi corridor, rationally distribute the corridor resources, and improve the modern comprehensive transportation system.
