Project contractor
The 196-kilometer-long Abuja-Lokoja road duality contract was signed in 2006 in four parts under the leadership of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The construction period is 30 months.
The four parts are Juba to Sheda (42 kilometers), Sheda to Abaji (57 kilometers), Abaji to Kotonkarfe, and Kotonkarfe to Lokoja. The first and second paragraphs were awarded to DANTATA & SAWOE Construction Company (Nigeria) Co., Ltd. and Reynolds Construction Company (RCC Nigeria) Co., Ltd., and the third and fourth paragraphs were awarded to Bulletine Construction Co., Ltd. and Gitto Costruzioni Generali Nigeria Co., Ltd. .
When these contracts were awarded, the total value of these contracts was 42.3 billion guilders, and various contract changes were made with each minister of the Ministry of Engineering and Housing. These costs have experienced multiple increases over time.
As far as the transportation of goods, people and other necessities by vehicles is concerned, the Abuja-Abaji-Lokoja Federal Highway is one of the roads that play a very important role in the existence of this nation in West Africa. It connects the southern part of the country with the seat of power, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and the northern states. Editor/Huang Lijun
