Recently, the report on the sea area use demonstration of the Hezhou Hengqin section of the Guangzhou Zhuhai (Macau) Railway was publicly released before the review. The preliminary work for the feasibility study and preliminary design approval of the project is fully underway, and construction is planned to begin within the year.

Core positioning and development necessity

The Hezhou Hengqin section of the Guangzhou Macau Zhuhai railway is a key component of the main channel of the Beijing Harbin Beijing Hong Kong Macau high-speed railway, and has been included in multiple major national plans. It is a key transportation infrastructure project that has been promoted recently. This project connects key nodes such as Hezhou and Hengqin in Zhuhai, and links important hubs such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen. It can effectively form a high-speed rail channel for the integration and exchange between Macau and the mainland, which has important strategic significance in supporting the spatial development pattern of the Greater Bay Area and helping Macau integrate into the national development plan.

At present, the design speed of the Guangzhou Zhuhai intercity railway is only 200km/h, and the transportation capacity is basically saturated, which cannot meet the large passenger flow demand in the near and long term. According to the relevant planning requirements of China Railway Group, the main task is to quickly connect the main channel of the high-speed railway, so the construction of this project is very necessary.

Project Overview and Construction Scale

This line originates from Zhuhai Hezhou Station and crosses multiple important facilities along the way, ultimately leading to Hengqin Station. The newly built line is approximately 15.6km long, including key projects such as the construction of a double track super large bridge, roadbed, and Heqin Tunnel. The railway is classified as a high-speed railway. According to the feasibility study forecast, the maximum number of trains to be operated on this line in the near and long term of the planning year is 130 pairs/day and 142 pairs/day, respectively. The total planned construction period of the project is 5 years, with the Heqin Tunnel serving as a control project and the shield tunneling area being connected for approximately 48 months. Station layout and subsequent connection

There are two stations along the entire line, Zhuhai Hezhou Station and Hengqin Station. Zhuhai Hezhou Station connects with the Zhuhai Zhaoqing High speed Railway, Shenzhen Zhuhai Intercity Railway and other lines, mainly handling the departure and arrival of related trains; Hengqin Station connects with Shenzhen Zhuhai intercity railway lines and handles the departure, arrival, and stopping of related trains.
