Recently, the Fourth China Hydropower Bureau awarded another national “172 project”-the civil construction and installation project of the dam of the Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project in Shaanxi Province. The Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project is a major water conservancy project in Shaanxi Province to implement the western development strategy and accelerate the development of the Guanzhong Economic Zone. It is an important flood control backbone project in the "Yellow River Basin Flood Control Plan" and "Weihe River Basin Key Management Plan" approved by the State Council. One of the 172 water-saving and water-saving major water conservancy projects identified, after completion, it will be the reservoir with the largest storage capacity and the highest dam in Shaanxi Province.

The total reservoir capacity of the Dongzhuang Water Control Project is about 3.276 billion cubic meters. The installed capacity of the hydropower station is 110 MW. The water retaining structure of the dam adopts a concrete double-curved arch dam. The dam crest elevation is 804 meters, the foundation elevation is 574 meters, and the maximum dam height is 230 meters, the concrete volume of the dam body is about 1.94 million cubic meters, the level of the hub project is Class I, the project scale is large (1), the project tasks are mainly flood prevention and silt reduction, and comprehensive utilization of water supply, power generation and ecological improvement are taken into consideration. All in one, the reasonable service life is 150 years.

The project undertaken by China Hydropower Fourth Bureau is the main project and landmark project of Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project. The main construction content of the project includes: arch dam abutment and foundation pit excavation project, plunge pool project, water diversion, water supply tunnel excavation and support Engineering, arch dam foundation treatment engineering, arch dam concrete engineering, dam abutment curtain grouting engineering, drainage engineering, gold structure installation and electrical and mechanical installation engineering, building decoration engineering, safety monitoring, plugging engineering, soil and water conservation engineering during construction of spoil yard And other projects. The planned construction period of the project is 68 months from April 1, 2021 to November 30, 2026.

The project relieves flood control pressure

After the completion of the Dongzhuang Water Control Project, it will effectively alleviate the flood control pressure on the lower reaches of the Weihe River when the Jinghe and Weihe Rivers are flooded at the same time, reduce the sedimentation of the lower reaches of the Weihe River, and can adjust water and sand through reservoirs, artificial flood peaks, increase the chance of erosion in the lower reaches of the Weihe River, and reduce Tongguan Elevation, gradually restore the functions of the lower reaches of the Weihe River, and reduce flood disasters. It will become a "giant water tower" in the Weibei Dryland, supplying more than 500 million cubic meters of water to the Xixian New District, Tongchuan, Fuping and Jinghui Irrigation Districts each year, providing flood control and water supply guarantee for the Guanzhong area. It can also optimize the structure of the Shaanxi power grid, reduce coal consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, and play an important role in energy conservation and emission reduction in Shaanxi Province. Edit/Xu Ning
