As an infrastructure madman, China has been building various projects. For a long time, the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway with a total length of 2,298 kilometers is the longest high-speed railway in China and the longest high-speed railway in the world. However, China has never slowed down in the construction of high-speed rail, and has been breaking its own records. It is expected that by 2025, the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail will hand over the baton of the "longest high-speed rail", and the Baohai high-speed rail with a total length of 2,300 kilometers will be replaced. Not surprisingly, it will also be the longest in the world.

The "package" of the Baohai high-speed rail is Baotou, Inner Mongolia; the "hai" is Haikou, Hainan; after completion, this will be another north-south high-speed rail artery, with a design speed of 350 km/h, passing through Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Guangxi , Guangdong, Hainan, 7 provinces and cities, 80 stations; it is also one of the verticals in the “eight verticals and eight horizontals” layout of China’s railways. At the same time, it will connect the Hubao Economic Circle, the Guanzhong Economic Circle, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, the Qianzhong Economic Circle and the Beibu Gulf Economic Circle to provide passenger transport services for a quarter of China's population.

Due to the large scale of the project, it is estimated that the total investment will be 420 billion yuan; and the construction will be implemented in stages. At present, the Nanning-Hepu Yongbei Railway has been put into operation; the Xiyan high-speed railway from Yan'an to Xi'an and the Guinan high-speed railway from Guiyang to Nanning have also started; other sections are also under intense plans, and the entire line is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025 . However, the most eye-catching is the Zhanjiang-Haikou section. Whether the railway bridge will be built or through other means is very much anticipated.

When the railway is completed, we can start from the Inner Mongolian prairie where the wind blows the grass and see the cattle and sheep, take the Baohai high-speed rail all the way to the south, and finally arrive at Haikou Old Street where there are many arcades; friends who have more time can also continue to take Hainan The round-the-island railway goes to Sanya with blue sea and blue sky. The vastly different geographical scenery at the north and south ends of this line can be “catch all” within one day.

Friends who have a lot of time and like to travel by train can choose a stop of interest at 80 stops along the way. On this route, there are Ordos, which has both desert and grassland scenery, Yan'an, which is known as "the throat" and "military town", Xi'an, the ancient capital of the thirteen dynasties, which showcases the charm of Han and Tang Dynasties, the 8D magic mountain city of Chongqing, and the rapid development of treasures. The city of Guiyang, the "China Green City" Nanning, the comfortable and newly emerging Internet celebrity city Zhanjiang, etc.

The opening of the high-speed rail to traffic will push the tourism economy of the cities along the route to another climax. It is foreseeable that the cities along the Baohai high-speed rail will have great development, especially some cities that are still developing. For areas with abundant tourism resources, the construction of high-speed rail will also attract passenger flow, thereby developing tourism and driving the economy. So, do you look forward to the completion of the Baohai high-speed rail? Editor/Sang Xiaomei
