Recently, Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, announced an investment of 24.1 billion tenge to build 14 projects in the industrial park. The total area of the Almaty Industrial Park is 490 hectares. Among them, 326 hectares of land have been approved for this project in accordance with the plan. The 14 investment projects cover an area of 212 hectares. Nine of the 43 local companies involved have foreign participation.

During the work inspection, the mayor learned about the project preparation and production process. Sakintayev emphasized that the start of the industrial park project has an important role in the economic development of Almaty. At the same time, he also said that the industrial park has the potential to create new and more competitive industries if energy can be effectively used, modern technology is used, and production processes are highly digitized.

In 2019, Almaty Industrial Park has launched 8 new projects. Currently, the five factories that the industrial park is planning to start are undergoing adjustment work. The large-diameter welded steel pipe plant with a planned annual output of 100,000 tons of pipes will soon be put into use, and the startup of the plant will add 304 jobs. In addition, an energy saving project for exterior wall decoration that can provide 80 jobs is also being planned. The Kazakhstan-South Korea joint venture Hyundai Motor Plant is also one of the projects to be launched. The plant plans to produce 45,000 cars per year and provide 700 fixed jobs. The planned annual production of 3,500 tons of meat products and semi-finished products will also be put into use in 2020. The plant will provide more than 250 jobs. In addition, a one-time medical product factory capable of providing 50 jobs and an annual output of 29 million pieces is also planned to be put into use.

In general, Almaty Industrial Park plans to start 14 projects worth about 24.1 billion tenge in 2020, and the new projects started will create more than 1,400 jobs. At the same time, the construction of the industrial park has enabled Kazakhstan to delimit an area through administrative means, gather various production factors, carry out scientific integration within a certain space, increase the intensive intensity of industrialization, highlight industrial characteristics, and optimize the functional layout.
