On March 31, 2026, China Gezhouba Group Company Limited officially signed the EPC general contract for the Poyiga 2 hydropower station with PT MINAHASA BRANTAS ENERGY in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The implementation of this critical milestone not only marks the full entry of the project into the implementation stage, but also adds another significant touch to the deepening of the Southeast Asian clean energy market for Chinese enterprises.

As a key energy infrastructure in Sulawesi, the launch of the project will effectively ease the regional power tension and become another landmark project of high-quality joint construction of the the Belt and Road.

At the signing ceremony, representatives from both parties attended and witnessed this important moment, and had in-depth exchanges on the project promotion plan, construction organization, and subsequent cooperation, laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the project.

The Boega 2 hydropower station is located in Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, and is one of the key clean energy projects being promoted on Sulawesi Island. The project plans to construct two hydroelectric power units and simultaneously implement the diversion tunnel, ground plant, access road, and power transmission and transformation project.
