Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment publicized the "Environmental Impact Report of the Lion Ocean Passage Project." According to the report, the Lions Ocean Passage project is scheduled to start construction at the end of 2021, with a construction period of until 2027.

Lion Ocean Passage Project

The project is located in the core area of the Pearl River Delta, with the Guangzhou-Zhongjiang Expressway on the west side and the Changhu Expressway on the east side. It has a high design standard and a large construction scale. It uses a double-layer expressway with a total of 16 lanes.

The main part of the project is divided into upper and lower levels. The upper-level route is generally east-west. The starting point is Xinwei Village, Dagang Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, which connects with Guangzhongjiang Expressway, and finally connects with Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway Xinlian Interchange in Humen Town, Dongguan City and Changhu Expressway. The total length is 35.089km. The whole line adopts the form of bridges, including 16 extra-large bridges (including the Shiziyang Bridge 2180m), 8 bridges, 9 intercommunication locations, 1 service area, and 2 fire rescue sub-centers. The entire line adopts two-way eight-lane expressway technical standards, with a design speed of 100 km/h and a standard subgrade cross-sectional width of 41.5m.

The lower-level project starts at Lianxi Avenue, Huangge Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou, and connects to the lower-level Guige Avenue section, and ends at Longchuanzhou Village, Shatian Town, Dongguan City. It is connected to the planned Baisha South Section with a total length of 15.362km. Only part of the road section and part of the interchange section in the lower layer are in the form of subgrade, and the rest are in the form of bridges, with three interchanges including Xiaohu Island, Humen Port (built on the same site as the upper layer), and Fulong. Among them, the cross-river section (Eastern Expressway to Guangshen Yanjiang Expressway) has a total length of 12.282 km, adopts two-way eight-lane expressway standards, with a design speed of 100km/h, and a standard subgrade cross section width of 41.5m; the full length of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yanjiang Expressway to the end 3.08km, adopting two-way six-lane expressway standard, design speed 100km/h, standard cross-section width of subgrade 35m.

According to reports, in addition to the super-large span, super-heavy load, and super-wide bridge deck, the Shiziyang Passage has many construction features. The project spans Guangzhou and Dongguan, and has a prominent role in realizing the interconnection of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Bay Greater Bay Area. The regional road network is dense, and the interchanges are densely set up. There are 9 interchanges on the upper level and 3 on the lower level, with an average of 3.88km/place. , The external connection is significant, and the upper and lower traffic connections are involved, and the internal connection is complicated.

The ratio of bridges on the whole line is high, with upper bridges accounting for 100%, and lower bridges accounting for about 91%. The high degree of urbanization along the project, shortage of land resources, and many control factors require technical requirements for prefabrication, assembly, and rapid construction. high.

The Shiziyang Passage is responsible for significant traffic flow of the Pearl River Estuary Crossing Passage. In the long-term operation period, the maximum traffic volume of the road section reaches 150,000 standard passenger cars per day. Editor/He Yuting
