It is reported that the Yellow River Yangqu Hydropower Station is located on the main stream of the Yellow River at the junction of Xinghai County and Guinan County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The height of the dam is 150 meters, the average power generation capacity for many years is 4.732 billion kWh, and the total investment is 17.06 billion yuan.

Qinghai Yellow River Yangqu Hydropower Station is an important supporting peak-shaving power supply for Qinghai Province’s Qingyu DC UHV transmission channel, and is of great significance to Qinghai Province’s clean energy transmission. In the future, after the completion of the project, the Qinghai Province’s Qingyu DC UHV transmission channel will be able to transmit electricity at full capacity, which will help Qinghai Province to vigorously develop clean energy, build a national clean energy industry highland, and help the country achieve the "dual carbon" goal .
