With the release of the bidding announcement, the Dabancheng Pumped Storage Power Station in Xinjiang has officially entered the fast lane of construction. This super power bank with a total investment of about 10.549 billion yuan and an installed capacity of up to 1.4 million kilowatts is not only the final work of China Three Gorges Corporation in the clean energy landscape of Xinjiang, but also a key link in solving the problem of new energy consumption in Xinjiang.

The project is located in Dabancheng District, Urumqi City, and plans to install four 350000 kW vertical axis single-stage mixed flow reversible units. It is expected to be completed on December 31, 2037, with a construction period of 11 years.
As a national energy strategy guarantee base, the installed capacity of new energy in Xinjiang has reached 112 million kilowatts, accounting for over 55%. However, the accompanying pressure of peak shaving and the risk of wind and solar power curtailment are increasing. The construction of Dabancheng Power Station will directly enhance the grid's ability to accept fluctuating energy through peak shaving and valley filling, and build a regulatory defense line for the green power transmission from north to south of Tianshan Mountains.
This is not a solo breakthrough by China Three Gorges Corporation, but a microcosm of its entire industry chain layout.
