$627 million! North International Signs the East Timor Dam EPC Project

On June 14, 2022, North International Cooperation Co., Ltd. and the owner of the East Timor Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries signed the "East Timor Dam Construction and Water Supply Project Design, Procurement and Construction Contract" in Beijing. North International will provide three dam construction and water supply. EPC general contracting services for the project, with a contract value of US$627 million.

Project Description

Northern International Cooperation Co., Ltd. will provide the owner with the design, procurement, and construction general contracting services for the three dam construction and water supply projects of Maliana 2 Dam, Sare Dam and Bilimau Dam. The basic work scope of the project will include but not limited to three large dam main dam, spillway, pumping tower, bottom outlet system, raw water intake and pumping works, raw water rising main road, water treatment plant, fresh water storage tank, elevated water tank and pumping system, canal culvert and power station and other facilities building.

At present, the contract is still in the process of approval by the Timor-Leste government. Northern International has not yet received the advance payment. The Timor-Leste Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry has not signed a loan agreement with the financing bank, and the contract has not yet come into effect. North International was established in 1986. The company's main business is general contracting of international and domestic projects and architectural decoration projects. The controlling shareholder is China North Industries Corporation. In 2021, the company's operating income is about 13.05 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.55%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company is 624 million yuan. In this project, China North International will undertake the feasibility study, design, implementation, completion and repair of any defects in accordance with the contract.
