Nova Wind, the wind power arm of Russian energy company Rosatom, has signed a cooperation agreement with Anxuan Energy to develop a 128-megawatt wind farm in Vietnam. The proposed wind farm will be built in Son La province in the northwestern region of the country.
Anxuan Energy CEO Nguyen Quang Luan and NovaWind CEO Grigoriy Nazarov signed a cooperation agreement. As a wind power project developer in Russia, we have acquired extensive expertise and are ready to deploy our capabilities on an international scale, Nazarov said.
Rosatom has already implemented some projects in the fields of energy and science in Vietnam, and these areas of cooperation are now expanding. Founded in 2017, Anxuan Energy is a development and investment company focusing on developing hydropower, solar, wind and biomass energy projects.
In Vietnam, the company is currently developing a renewable energy pipeline that includes 140 MW of solar and 430 MW of wind capacity. Luan said, "We are delighted to sign a cooperation agreement with Nova Wind for wind power projects in Son La Province. Rosatom is committed to working with NovaWind to achieve a successful commercial operation as planned. Rosatom has announced the start of major construction works on the fourth and final unit of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Turkey.
