Thailand has an impressive $44.8 billion budget for transport development plans. The two highway projects are the 96km M81 link connecting Kanchanaburi and Yangbai and the 196km M6 link linking BangPa-in and Nakhon Ratchasima. Other transport projects to be built in Thailand include the development of new rail links and airport facilities.

This time, major new road works are planned in Thailand. The $848 million project, which runs 30 kilometers between Kathu and Muang Mai, will now be jointly managed by the Ministry of Highways, the Highways Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Rural Roads. The route was originally intended to connect Muang Mai and KohKaeo, but is now being extended to Kathu.

A 20km elevated line connecting Ongkhrak and Pathum Thani is also underway, a project costing US$1.07 billion. Meanwhile, a US$1.2 billion, 18-kilometer elevated route will link Srinajin Road and Suvarnabhumi Airport. In addition, a total of 72 kilometers of new roads and bridges will improve traffic between Samut Prakan and Samut Prakan.Editor/XingWentao
