The construction site of the project is located in Sikeshu Township and Zhaocun Town in the southwest of Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province.

Henan Lushan Pumped Storage Power Station is located in Sikeshu Township and Zhaocun Town in the southwest of Lushan County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. The linear distance of the power station is about 51km from Lushan County, 157km from Zhengzhou and 109km from Luoyang, and about 70km from Xiangshan 500kV substation. The geographical location is superior.

Henan Lushan pumped storage power station installed 4 units, single capacity 325MW, total installed capacity 1300MW. The upper reservoir of the power station chooses the site of the lower dam, the rainwater collection area is 1.22km2, the normal water level is 946.00m, the storage capacity below the normal water level is 7.203 million m3, the dead water level is 920.00m, the dead storage capacity is 816 million m3, the effective storage capacity is 6.3870 million m3, and the total storage capacity is 8.180 million m3. The site of the lower reservoir is selected as the lower dam site. The rainwater catchment area is 15.86km2 (including the rainwater catchment area of the upper reservoir). The normal water level is 388.00m, the storage capacity below the normal water level is 7,484,000 m3, the dead water level is 348.00m, the dead storage capacity is 1,028,000 m3, the effective storage capacity is 6,456,000 m3, and the total storage capacity is 8,467,000 m3. Rated head 557.00m.

The owner's camp project is located on the west slope of Niulingshi Formation, Xiaercheng Village. It is about 2.5km away from the dam site of the reservoir under the power station, and about 6.0km away from Zhaocun Town in the northwest. There is a village road on the west side of the camp, and the power station approach road passes through the east side of the camp, and adjacent to the 311 State road, convenient transportation.
