On November 14, 2022, Hubei Development and Reform Commission approved the feasibility study report of Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge in Jingzhou with Document No. 409 of Hubei Development and Reform Examination and Approval Service. The project has been listed in the National Development and Reform Commission's "Yangtze River Trunk Crossing Channel Layout Plan (2020-2035)".
Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge
It is reported that Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge is the largest investment in the history of Jingzhou bridge, has been officially started on February 28, 2022, the project department of the working board house, river construction trestle and other preliminary projects are under construction, the total construction time is expected to be 4.5 years. The approval of the feasibility study report represents that the project has entered the stage of full implementation.
Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge is a reserved river crossing channel for Jingyue Intercity Railway and Erguang Expressway. The passage is located about 15.4km upstream of the Jingzhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge. Jingzhou Libu Railway combined bridge adopts (92+210+1120+210+92) m cable-stayed cooperation bridge scheme, divided into upper and lower layers. The length of the combined railway area is about 7.91 km, including 1.72 km for the main bridge, 4.81 km for the north bank and 1.37 km for the south bank.
The highway adopts the technical standard of six lanes in two directions and the design speed is 100 km/h. The first level highway (and urban road function) adopts the two-way four lanes, the design speed of 60 km/h technical standard; Major technical standards such as 350 km/h and double-track railway lines will be adopted in the planning, and the main bridge across the Yangtze River will be designed according to 250 km/h standards.
The railway connection of Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge Project is led from the Balingshan Line of Jingjing Railway, and a new Jingzhou West Railway Station is set up to the south; a new railway bridge is built in Libu Town to cross the river with the Two-Guangzhou Expressway; Jingzhou South Railway Station is set up near Maojiagang Town; and then the line continues southward through Shishou, Huarong and Junshan to Yueyang area, leading to Changyue Intercity Yueyang South Railway Station. The new line is about 180.3km long.
It is estimated that the total investment of the project is about 10.5 billion yuan, of which the railway part is about 4.19 billion yuan, excluding the railway part of the track, four power stations and supporting facilities and other projects, and the highway part is about 6.31 billion yuan. Railway authorities will compensate about 4.19 billion yuan, with the specific amount subject to later consultation.
Jingzhou Libu Yangtze River Railway Bridge is the diversion route of the Jingzhou section of the 2Guangzhou-Guangzhou Expressway, and the shared crossing channel of the Jingjing-Southern extension railway and urban road.
