Recently, China Railway Electrification Bureau International Engineering Co., Ltd. achieved a new breakthrough in the "smart rail" market, and successfully won the bid for Malaysia Sarawak Kuching Intelligent Express System Project in the form of a consortium, with a bid winning amount of 448 million ringgit, equivalent to 703 million yuan.

The Kuching Project in Malaysia is one of the first projects of China Railway Electrification Bureau to launch "smart rail" business overseas. The project mainly includes the design, procurement, supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of six subsystems, including communication, monitoring and data acquisition of smart express systems for SAMARAHAN Line (Line 1) and SERIAN Line (Line 2).
SAMARAHAN Line and SERIAN Line are important components of Kuching's transportation system. Among them, SAMARAHAN Line is 27.3km long, with 15 stations in total, and SERIAN Line is 24.8km long, with 14 stations in total. China Railway Electrification Bureau is mainly responsible for the design, procurement, construction, delivery, defects liability period maintenance and other works of the weak current system of the project.
