China Harbour Engineering Corporation was engaged to build Halifa Port in Abu Dhabi, which was developed by CMA Terminals (70%) and AD Ports Group (30%). CHEC will build 28 office buildings and utilities, create about 1 million square meters of flat land, and build access roads.

The developers of the terminal hope that it will start operation in the first half of 2025. They said that due to renewable energy and offset, their administrative buildings will achieve net zero carbon. The port will have an initial capacity of 1.8 million twenty foot equivalent units and will be integrated with the Atihad Railway.
Yang Zhiyuan, CEO of CHEC Middle East, said that we are honored to be selected to participate in this flagship project and contribute to the development of one of the most advanced terminals in the region. In particular, we will ensure that the design and construction of buildings and upper infrastructure meet the highest architectural and sustainability standards.Editor/Xing Wentao
