Wanhuan West Road Rapid Reconstruction Project

On December 15, 2022, Dawan District held the commencement ceremony of the rapid transformation project of Wanhuan West Road in Nansha, Guangzhou. After the completion of the project, it will break through the traffic bottleneck at the throat, further establish Nansha's position as a transportation hub in the geographic and geometric center of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and provide strong support for the strategic development of Nansha New Area.

Wanhuan West Road is located in Wanqingsha Plate, the core area of the Bay Area. It connects Nansha Port Area, Shenzhong Corridor and Nanzhong Expressway in the south, and Dongxin Expressway and Nansha Port Expressway in the north. As a freight channel, it is of great significance for people's livelihood in promoting connectivity, industry city integration, and urban industrial development.

Since the launch of the project, the group company has set up a special operation team to do a good job in early tracking, bidding planning, bid preparation review and other aspects of the work in an all-round way, achieving accurate bidding and scientific contracting. In view of the difficulties such as pipeline relocation, nursery stock relocation, steel box girder construction and traffic relief, Dawan District Company will stick to the red line of the construction period target, strengthen the coordination of internal and external relations, increase the efforts to tackle key scientific and technological problems, and ensure that all construction tasks are completed on time and with quality.

The rapid reconstruction project covers an area of about 960,000 square meters, including the expansion of Wanhuan West Road and Fanzhong Road, and the reconstruction of Nansha Port Railway, Nanzhu Avenue, Lixinsha East Road, etc. A total of 5 overpasses, 2 tunnels and 5 pedestrian overpasses are set up along the whole line. The reconstruction is carried out according to the design speed of 60km/h for the urban trunk road, two-way six lane main line, two-way four lane auxiliary road, and the design speed of 40km/h. In addition to the subgrade sections separated by main and auxiliary sections in general sections, overpasses are set at important nodes along the line. Among them, Wanhuan North Road, Fanzhong Road, Lixinsha Road and Wanlong Avenue are separated interchanges, and Nanzhu Avenue is an interchange.

At present, the Shenzhen China Channel is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2024. As an important freight channel linking Nansha Port and Shenzhen China Channel, the rapid transformation project of Wanhuan West Road will play a very important and far-reaching role in accelerating the integration of Nansha Free Trade Zone into the construction of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Bay Area, further building an international shipping logistics center, radiating and driving the formation of a more efficient and convenient modern transportation system in Guangdong Province.

Haikou South Railway Station Freight Train Inspection Area Construction Project

On December 15, at the South Port Wharf of Guangdong Hainan Railway, the first railway freight train closure project of Hainan Free Trade Port, Haikou South Railway Station Freight Train Inspection Area, contracted by China Railway 25th Bureau, officially commenced construction.

As a supporting project for the closure of Hainan Free Trade Port, the project will, in combination with the conditions of Haikou Station, Haikou South Station and existing lines in the section, build a new customs inspection area on the west side of the shunting yard of Haikou Station according to the cargo train closure operation process, and set a cargo train front inspection area on the main line outside the north throat of Haikou South Station. The project involves the construction of bridge and culvert, track, housing, signal, communication, power and other projects.

Construction equipment ready for dispatch

Haikou Station and Haikou South Station, as the main stations of Qiongzhou Strait Railway for cargo outbound operations, are important transportation channels between Hainan Island and the mainland. The construction of intelligent inspection facilities and equipment in the railway freight train inspection area is the most important part of the project's freight inspection platform construction, the biggest guarantee that the railway station has the conditions for customs operation, and the basis for Hainan Island to achieve "first line" liberalization and "second line" control.

The construction of this project is related to the supervision capacity of the island's customs closure operation in 2025. It is also a business line construction. In view of the difficulties such as heavy traffic interference, more blockaded point construction, more typhoons, and tight construction period, the electric and signaling company will give full play to its enterprise management advantages and technical strength, develop a strict construction organization plan, continuously strengthen the safety construction control, and complete the construction task with high standards and quality, so as to help the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.

It is reported that after the completion of the project, outbound freight trains can enter Haikou Station after customs inspection at Haikou South Railway Station, realizing the customs sealing function of railway freight trains, further improving the railway freight capacity of Haikou South Railway Station, which is of great significance to accelerate the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and promote local economic development.
