In the morning, when the first ray of sunshine from the Ordos Energy and Chemical Base of Zhonghua Coal was shining on the vast construction site, a batch of newly arrived "green heavy weapons" were quietly waiting to be installed. They are alkaline electrolysis cells independently developed by Zhuzhou Institute, a subsidiary of CRRC, with a total of 12 sets and a hydrogen production capacity of 1200 cubic meters per hour. In the near future, these core equipment will be put into operation in the world's first liquid solar industrialization demonstration project - the 100000 ton/year liquid solar project of middling coal Enenghua, which will convert green electricity into green hydrogen and then produce green methanol, connecting the whole industrial chain from renewable energy to green fuel.

This is not only a simple equipment delivery, but also an important breakthrough for China in the comprehensive application of flexible hydrogen production and green energy. With the shipment of these electrolytic cells, CRRC has pressed the accelerator button for the large-scale application of large-scale green hydrogen equipment, injecting new impetus into China's and even the world's green and low-carbon transformation.

Flexible hydrogen production, compatible with green electricity

To cope with the volatility of renewable energy sources such as wind power and photovoltaics, this alkaline electrolysis cell is specially designed with a wide load regulation capability, which can operate flexibly within the range of 25% to 110% and respond quickly to regulation. Its DC power consumption is only 4.2 kilowatt hours per standard cubic meter, which is at the forefront of the industry and can significantly reduce hydrogen production costs and improve overall efficiency for the project.

Five fold protection, safety first

On the security level, the device has built a five layer deep protection system through intrinsic safety design, multiple sealing technology, and online monitoring system. After rigorous testing for up to 1000 hours, the electrolytic cell has demonstrated excellent stability and safety throughout its entire lifecycle, laying a solid foundation for continuous industrial operation.

At present, CRRC has formed electrolytic cell products covering various technical routes such as alkaline, proton exchange membrane, anion exchange membrane, etc., and has a complete matrix of supporting core equipment such as separation and purification, hydrogen production power supply, and intelligent control.
