Recently, the reporter of Jiandao.com learned from the mobilization activity held by the Gansu Provincial Department of Transportation for the commencement of the 2023 trunk highway maintenance project and highway upgrading and reconstruction project that there are 212 trunk highway maintenance projects in Gansu Province in 2023, with a planned investment of 1.493 billion yuan; The total budget for the quality improvement and reconstruction projects of some sections of the four national expressways including G22 is 2.4 billion yuan, and the reconstruction mileage is 582 kilometers. It is the largest existing expressway quality improvement and reconstruction project in Gansu Province's history.

In 2023, the maintenance projects of Gansu mainline highways include 18 expressways of 391 million yuan, 82 provincial mainline highways of 848 million yuan, and 112 bridge projects of 254 million yuan. At present, the preliminary work of other projects has been prepared, except for the reinforcement works of three dangerous bridges.

It is understood that the existing pavement, guardrail and tunnel of the four national highways, including the Pingding section of G22 Qingdao-Lanzhou Expressway, the Liubai section of G6 Beijing-Tibet Expressway, the Baotian section of G30 Lianhuo Expressway (including Tianshui transit), the Shanlin section, the Jia'an section and the Fengchang section of G70 Fuzhou-Yinchuan Expressway, have been upgraded. The length of single treatment of asphalt concrete pavement is 576 kilometers, and the length of single side of corrugated beam guardrail is 1536 kilometers. At present, the project management organizations for the upgrading and reconstruction of the four expressways are all in place.

The quality improvement and reconstruction projects of four national expressways, including G22, are key projects included in the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan for Highway and Waterway Traffic Development in Gansu Province" and the "Implementation Plan for Implementing a Package of Policies and Measures to Stabilize the Economy in Gansu Province". Through upgrading the existing pavement and safety facilities of the existing expressways with large traffic volume, high safety risk and low technical status in Gansu Province, the quality of the expressway pavement will be improved, the operation safety performance will be enhanced, and the traffic capacity and service level will be improved.
