On May 24, 2023, Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Fuxian Power Plant's two 1-million-kilowatt project No. 1 units have passed 168 hours of full-load trial operation, marking the official commissioning of the first 1-million-kilowatt unit in Yan'an, an old revolutionary base.

The project, with a planned total installed capacity of 4x1 million kilowatts, will be divided into two phases of construction. In this phase, 2x1 million kilowatts of high-efficiency ultra-supercritical intercooled coal-fired generating units will be built, with a dynamic investment of about 8.6 billion yuan. The project is a supporting power point for the ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project from northern Shaanxi to Hubei. It is also a key construction project in Shaanxi Province. The strategy of sending electricity from west to east is of great significance to promote the adjustment of industrial structure in Yan'an, an old revolutionary base area, help the economic and social development of the old base area, support Hubei's economy, and inherit the spirit of Yan'an.

The project is committed to creating a new benchmark for green and low-carbon power plants, adopting a number of energy-saving measures, and the coal consumption for power generation is 270.74 g/kWh, which is superior to the advanced level of similar domestic units; The hierarchical layout of coal burners and SCR denitrification technology, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, smoke and dust emission concentrations have reached ultra-low emission levels, and the construction of smart power plants helps power plants to operate in a safer, more efficient, low-carbon and environmentally friendly manner. The air-film coal shed used in this project is the first air-film coal shed in Shaanxi Province, which fills the gap in the application of closed air-film coal yards in Shaanxi Province, and truly achieves zero dust emission.
