2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past decade, connectivity between China and countries along the Belt and Road has continued to improve. The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Highway, referred to as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Highway, is an important part of the China-Central Asia-West Asia International Economic Corridor. It starts from Kashgar in Xinjiang Province in the east, passes through the southern city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan, and reaches Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan in the west, with a total length of 950 kilometers. The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Highway has become an important highway from the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang to the Amu Darya River Basin in Central Asia, benefiting the economic development and people's lives of the countries along the route.

The construction of this road has enhanced the capacity of Osh as a cross-border transport corridor. For example, the 255-kilometer journey from Irkeshtan port in Xinjiang to Osh used to take seven or eight hours, but after the highway was built, it only took two and a half hours. Local people hope to use this new freight channel to export their high-quality agricultural and sideline products to China, and also hope that more products from neighboring countries will be sold in the market.
