At present, the installed capacity of hydropower in Hubei Province reaches 37.84 million kilowatts (including the Three Gorges Power Station), accounting for 37.6%; The installed capacity of thermal power reaches 35.79 million kilowatts, accounting for 35.6%; The installed capacity of wind and solar power generation reached 27.02 million kilowatts, accounting for 26.8%.

It is reported that during the 13th Five Year Plan period, the installed capacity of new energy power generation in Hubei Province increased by 38% annually, and the installed scale continued to expand. State Grid Hubei Electric Power has accelerated the construction of the power grid, with a total of 8125 kilometers of 110 kV and above transmission lines and a transformation capacity of 40.98 million KVA put into operation during the 13th Five Year Plan, ensuring the integration of new energy sources into the grid and the consumption of electricity. By the 14th Five Year Plan period, the installed capacity and power generation capacity of new energy generation in Hubei Province will further increase.
